I don’t usually keep track of how long it takes me to make something, but this sock just flew off the needles. We have been watching PBS shows for the past few weeks, and we love the mystery series.
The pattern is well written, like all of Stephen’s patterns. The changing textures made the project engaging and perhaps a bit addictive. He has other designs for socks that are similar, without the ‘holes’. I really enjoyed trying some of the new textures, they weren’t as complicated as they look!
The yarn I discovered in the boxes in storage, it missed being on the website. It was on sale before the shop closed and then boxed up and set aside.
This yarn is beautifully made, the colour transitions worked well for the pattern. The design encourages you to use 3 different colours that fade, this yarn does that automatically. I just let the transitions happen.
This sock was the 2nd size, I used a slightly larger needle than suggested as I knew it would work.
You will find these on the website:
They are on sale!
I hope this inspires you to try some of Stephen’s patterns and challenge your brain to do some new techniques!
